Referral Group Program

Belonging to the Corridor Nine Referral Group is having your own core sales force working for you bringing in new business. Members continually increase the sales of their goods and services through an ongoing exchange of business leads and sharing of entrepreneurial information. By participating in the Corridor Nine Referral Group you will secure a competitive edge in the business community. The Referral Group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Chamber office, 30 Lyman Street, Suite 6, Westborough, from 7:30-9:00 a.m. Membership is available to non-competing businesses.

*Program Fee: The cost to join the Referral Program is $200 for the year (September to August). Members who join the group mid-year are charged a pro-rated fee based on the number of remaining weeks. Fees are non-refundable.

Mission:

The purpose of the Corridor Nine Breakfast Referral Group is to support and promote the business activities of other members of the group. It is our goal to bring more referral business to our members.

In addition, an important benefit is that members will learn about local businesses that can enhance the resources they offer to their clients. By learning more about chamber

Members will be limited to one or two primary business specialties.
Should a business specialty be similar to someone already in the Group, the group member has refusal right.<
If specific business specialty is not open, date of application determines order on wait list.
Membership to the Referral Group is at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
The maximum number of Referral Group members is 33.
*Approved visitors are welcome to visit one referral meeting to view the program and consider joining the group.
Attendance is critical. If a member misses three meetings within a six-month period, he/she automatically loses their seat and is placed on the wait-list so that a new member may take their place in the same category.
If you cannot attend a meeting you may send an approved substitute*. This will not count as an absence.
*Pre-approval of visitors and substitutes is required to support the non-compete criteria of the group and to respect the category seats that are already in place.

Membership Requirements:

Each member is required to take the time to meet with and learn about the businesses of other Referral Group members. This is called the "One on One" and is critical to the function of the group. You cannot refer someone to a member's business unless you know about that member and his/her business so that you can make an educated assessment on who and when to offer referrals and prospective business. While every member is expected to take the time and make the effort to learn about the businesses of the other members, there is no requirement that you refer other people to those businesses.
At each Corridor Nine Breakfast Referral meeting a brief (45 seconds) spoken presentation will be made by each member about their business and how their fellow members may be able to help them get more business. Techniques and tips on making the most out of networking opportunities will be discussed at various meetings. On a rotating basis one or more members will have the opportunity to give longer (eight minute) presentations to the group.
At each meeting, referrals (and leads) will be passed among the members. These referrals and the sales generated by these referrals will be tracked and announced.
